Projects in the UK

The United Kingdom has supported ICT in education right from the beginning of the new technologies. Besides the British Council promoting ICT projects in the educational sector, there are a number of important initiatives in this area.

InterActive Education is the largest ICT and education research project so far in the UK. The aim of the project was to find out more about how ICT can be used most effectively to enhance teaching and learning across the curriculum from primary to post-16.

University of Cambridge

The University of Cambridge runs several research projects on how teachers promote student learning in secondary school subject lessons which incorporate the use of ICT resources. In particular, it focused on use of data projection technology and interactive whiteboards.
